Interior Restoration
Though the exterior aspects of a historic structure are often its most prominent and recognizable features, the interior can be even more important in conveying the building’s history and its significance over various time periods.
The interior restoration of historic buildings often begins with structural stabilization. It is not unusual to find that load-bearing walls have been moved, or interior structural elements have been compromised due to moisture or shifting of the building. It is necessary to identify the causes of these problems prior to performing the actual stabilization work, as the work can be for naught if the undiscovered problems continue to plague the structure.
